Izzy Lee graduated from the VAV-moving image in 2024. She works across video, sculpture, and installation based between Amsterdam and Seoul.
At the heart of her practice is the figure of the “female alien,” a recurring protagonist that exists on the fringes of society. Her work explores displacement not merely as a social condition, but as a sensory experience. Through the use of fluid, shifting characters, she blurs the boundaries between reality and fiction, offering a lens into the lives of beings navigating the periphery.
Her most recent film No-da-ji Land has been selected for this year's International Film Festival Rotterdam. This RietveldTV episode is a 12-minute adaptation of her graduation work.
