Dakar, November 2023. With a camera in hand, I capture fragments of the capital. My exploration into how the gaze of others influences the perception of our female bodies continues. Here, I collect the stories of Senegalese women. How do they embody their femininity? What is the impact of the women in their surroundings, of society, on their essence? I unveil the city, and these women narrate it for you. Together, we wander through the city via their lived experiences.

The reason we invited Roxane is that she is an advocate for women and gives them a voice in her work. Her work in diverse media is intersectional and challenging and takes you to another world, a world that deserves to be seen and heard. We were excited to see her storytelling expand beyond her usual range of media to moving image through our invitation.
